The leather is soft and smooth.
The case is hard plastic and therefore vunerable. If this case was soft plastic I woud five 5 stars

My husband loves these cases because the leather looks more like a men's wallet and the case is durable. We ordered his original case about 2 years ago and the case outlasted the phone. Now that he has upgraded phones, we ordered a new one. I think I went through 3 cheaper case styles during that time span for my phone. The extra $$ is totally worth it.

I ordered the genuine leather wallet case. they sent one that was inferior.. Three slots instead of 4 and the leather looked like plastic. I've order two other ones that were the right ones and they are very nice old style real leather.. I hope they replace my order correctly......
